Richard R. Hough III
Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President
Richard R. Hough III is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Silvercrest Asset Management Group. Mr. Hough joined Silvercrest in 2003 and became a partner in 2006. He has served on the firm’s Executive Committee since 2007 with responsibilities for marketing and corporate strategy and development. Mr. Hough was Silvercrest’s president and chief operating officer from 2010-2013. Prior to joining Silvercrest, Mr. Hough worked as a policy analyst and was the founding national program director of Children’s Scholarship Fund. Mr. Hough is a member of the Board of Governors and executive committee of the Investment Adviser Association. Mr. Hough also serves as chairman of board of the Institute for Family Studies, and he serves on the boards of the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation; New York Men’s Leadership Forum; Christendom College; Boy Scouts of America; and the advisory board of The New Criterion. Mr. Hough received a B.A in politics and philosophy from Princeton University.
Scott A. Gerard, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Scott A. Gerard, CPA, is the Chief Financial Officer of Silvercrest Asset Management Group LLC. Mr. Gerard has served as Chief Financial Officer of Silvercrest since 2010. Prior to joining Silvercrest, Mr. Gerard was Chief Financial Officer of Brand Connections, LLC, a private equity-backed marketing and media company from December 2008 through November 2009. Previously, he was Chief Financial Officer of Guideline, Inc., a publicly-held business research firm. Prior to Guideline, Mr. Gerard was a Division Controller with Citigroup Inc. and began his career with KPMG LLP. Mr. Gerard is a Certified Public Accountant and received a B.S. in accounting from the University of Buffalo.
David J. Campbell
General Counsel and Secretary
David J. Campbell is the General Counsel of Silvercrest Asset Management Group LLC. Mr. Campbell joined Silvercrest from Jefferies & Company, Inc., where he was a Managing Director and Associate General Counsel, supporting the Equities, Fixed Income, and Operations groups. Mr. Campbell began his career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation, where as a Senior Vice President he provided advice and counsel to DLJ's Pershing Division, Investment Services Group and DLJdirect. In 2001 he joined the law firm of Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C., where he was made a partner of the firm and handled a variety of securities matters. Mr. Campbell graduated from The George Washington University with a B.A. in English and from the Villanova University School of Law with a J.D.
Albert S. Messina
Managing Director and Portfolio Manager
Albert S. Messina is a member of our board of directors as well as the firm’s Executive Committee. Mr. Messina joined Silvercrest Asset Management at its founding as a Managing Director and portfolio manager of equity and fixed income portfolios. Prior to Silvercrest, Mr. Messina was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he served in a similar capacity. He arrived at CSAM as a result of that firm's merger with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), where he had worked since 1983. Previously, he spent 14 years with Bankers Trust Company, where he advised private clients and oversaw the fiduciary department's Tax Services Division. Mr. Messina holds a B.A. in Economics from Brooklyn College. Mr. Messina is a member of the Board of Directors of The Royal Oak Foundation, serving on the Investment and Programs Committees. He serves as co-President and Chairman of the Board of ArtWatch International. Mr. Messina is also on the board of The Training Institute for Mental Health.
J. Allen Gray
Managing Director
J. Allen Gray is a Managing Director and has responsibility for Silvercrest's Institutional business, including consultant and client relations. Prior to Silvercrest, Mr. Gray served as a Managing Partner and a Member of the Management Committee of Osprey Partners Investment Management, LLC and as President of the Osprey Concentrated Large Cap Value Equity Fund. At Osprey he was responsible for Sales, Marketing and Client Relations. Prior to Osprey Partners, Mr. Gray served as a Managing Director with Radnor Capital Management, a start-up investment firm, where he was responsible for the firm's sales, marketing and client relations activities. Mr. Gray began his career with Kidder, Peabody & Co. as a financial advisor before accepting a position with Wheat, First Securities, Inc. as Vice President for institutional equity sales as well as continuing to work as a financial advisor to families and individuals. Mr. Gray received his B.A. in Political Science from Randolph-Macon College.
